Smyrna School District School Choice Information
District schools participate in the statewide School Choice Program based on available seating capacity. State law and district guidelines govern the enrollment criteria and application period. An enrollment form and additional required documents (guidelines and affidavit) are included below for families who wish to apply.

NOTE: While every attempt is made to satisfy the Intra-District Choice requests of families who reside within our district's boundaries, Smyrna School District's growing enrollment limits our ability to approve all requests.
The following schools are open to intra- and inter-district School Choice:
- North Smyrna Elementary School (Special Program-Immersion)
- Smyrna Elementary School
- Clayton Elementary School
- Clayton Intermediate School
Open Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year runs Nov 3, 2025, to Jan 14, 2026.
All students applying for choice must first be registered with their assigned feeder school, according to their address. If your student is not registered with a Delaware public school, you must contact your assigned feeder school to pre-register. Smyrna School District is participating in Delaware’s statewide School Choice Program. Families who missed the January 14 deadline can still using the link below:
Applications will remain open through the start of the 2026–27 school year and require a letter explaining the missed deadline.
